Architectural Services
CMIC helps clients select the right architect for any project, ensuring a strong design foundation and ongoing design oversight throughout construction.
We Know Why Your Architect Matters
The role of an architect in a construction project cannot be overstated. A strong design is the foundation of any major construction or renovation project and one of the most important factors that determines its success. Choosing the wrong architect can lead to a defective design and structural problems down the line, which is why CMIC offers architectural services as part of our comprehensive program rollout and construction management services.
Scope like this is usually priced alongside our Design-Build team, so estimating, permitting and field work all stay under one contract with one accountable point of contact.

Our Approach
When the drawings still need work at this stage, our Building Information Modeling group resolves it before the budget is locked, which is the last point where a change is still free to make.
How We Choose the Right Architect
We can select the right architect for any construction project, regardless of scope, complexity, or budget, weighing credentials, experience, and communication style. We ask whether the architect holds a degree from an NAAB-accredited institution, is certified by NCARB, and is licensed to practice in the applicable state.
- Degrees from NAAB accredited institutions confirmed before shortlisting
- NCARB certification and state licensing verified for the project location
- Credentials weighed against the scope, complexity, and budget
Experience Matters
Complex, large-scale construction projects require an architect who is well qualified, skilled, and experienced. We evaluate how long an architect or firm has been in business and whether they have direct experience with the type of project we plan to build.
- Years in business and completed project types reviewed in detail
- Direct experience with your building type given the most weight
- References checked with owners on similarly scoped projects
Working Style and Communication
Even the most talented architects can be a poor fit for a team if they cannot communicate their ideas clearly. We make sure the architect we choose connects with team members, coordinates with all stakeholders, and expresses ideas in a clear, coherent manner.
- Clear communication with owners, trades, and municipal reviewers
- Willingness to coordinate directly with our field superintendents
- Ideas expressed in drawings the field can actually build from
Representing Your Best Interests
We talk with a number of design professionals, discuss your project in detail, evaluate what each brings to the table, and confirm they use the latest technological tools before shortlisting a small number of architects. The final decision is always yours from among our shortlisted candidates.
- Several design professionals interviewed about your specific project
- Current design technology and modeling tools confirmed in use
- Final selection always made by you from our shortlist

Do You Provide Architecture in House or Bring in a Partner?
